Production of Mangosteen

This week, I'll be busy with the production of my mangosteen drink. A lot of things to do such as weighting the raw materials, prepare hot water, mixing of the materials, pasteurizing the juice, bottling (hot fill) & packaging.

Yesterday, Yin Sian was there to help me up with the production but today she gotta go back to UTAR for her antioxidant testing and cocoa extraction I guess. So I kind of gotta do all the thing myself. Fortunately, my sister is free today and she is willing to help me out. LOL. Don't know whether I can finish it all by myself or not. Yesterday, we managed to prepare 106 bottles only. Today, my sister and me so crazy that we managed to come out with 126 bottles. So there is another 68 bottles more. Maybe a few bottles extra for QA.

Just 2 days preparing the mangosteen juice, it nearly kill me. my back is aching now and I'm totally exhausted till I can't explain. I still need to go back to UTAR to check out how to prepare a consent form as well as the sensory profile evaluation form. Thanks to somebody (that she asked me not to mention her name), she did send me a sample of sensory evaluation format to me. This help me a bit in order to prepare my own form.

Currently, I'm still searching for people that are willing to volunteer themselves as my subject to be tested for anti hypertension properties of mangosteen, which in this case, my mangosteen juice. I have 2 volunteers here now, maybe 1 more later. However I still need about 7 more. Hope I can find my subjects as soon as possible.

I just need my subject to meet a few requirement only. First, he or she cannot consume coffee and alcoholic beverages during the period of testing. Next, he or she has to drink the mangosteen juice a bottle per day for 30 days and able to let me take his or her blood pressure once or twice per week. Most important is that he or she have to have blood pressure above 120/80 and below 140/90 to be my subject. God bless me and you.
