Mum's Birthday

Yesterday my family and I went to Mid Valley to celebrate my mum's birthday in advance. I snapped some nice picture of her having her dinner with us together as a family. Although I come up with most of the sum for the dinner, but seeing my mum putting a big smile on her face already worth it back.

I'm didn't get her anything this year. Just manage to treat her a nice dinner together with our family that's all. However she got herself a nice bag and my sister got her something cheap as well. Well, it's not about the price of the gift but the value of remember and cherish each other. I just hope my mum enjoy her day. I love you, mum!!

Great Dinner

I just back home from The Gardens. I had a great dinner with some of my old course mates (Tansra, Jun Hou, Ursula, Voon Yuke and her boyfriend, Kok Yew, and some of her cousins which are still kids). It is a belated birthday celebration for both Voon Yuke and me.

We dined at Tony Roma's and thanks to them, I got free meal. LOL. I love you guys for everything. Although it's a simple kind of gathering, but then I think it's really good as we didn't gather around very long since we graduated. I did recall the gathering with Pek Yen and Melissa back then at Ikano Power Centre. That is the previous gathering I remember.

We chatted a lot. I miss the old days we had where most of us chatting about studies or related issues, chatted about the latest gossips and movies in town, stuff etc. Now, we all chat about our working life, their research or their new campus life in university as Master student.

What seems much different is when I see Voon Yuke bringing her cousins along. It's like as if she is bringing her own kids. I was like "OMG, look at her". LOL. I am thinking in the next 10 years, probably that scene will become reality. Most of them will be married and have their children to tag along with them if we organise another gathering.

My 24th Birthday

Well, I just back home from dinner and movie with friend since it's my birthday. I did take some time to brush up myself and clean up some of my stuff before started blogging here. It's a simple yet not that simple birthday celebration. Well, at times not to have a huge celebration is not a bad thing.

Anyway, I do prefer small kind of celebration. At least you can enjoy it more than you can think of. Birthday nowadays seem to be telling us that we are older, however another year older means another year wiser. LOL. I just hate people say that you are older now, which makes you feel like you are outdated or 'expired'. Well, I don't keep those in mind anyway. So it's still okay.

On Wednesday itself, Choon Hing has already gotten to my place to treat me at Secret Recipes. We have the so-called brotherly chat. I do enjoy that kinda hang out. It's great and it feel comfortable compare to hang out merely at Mamak stalls. Do I sounds like I am so good in enjoying myself at those so-called high class places? Well, it just a preferences, does not mean that I always have the budget to hang out like that.

At office, my colleague, Siew Yin and a colleague from HK team, which is Siew Yin's friend got me Ferrero Rocher chocolate as present. Although I am not that fancy that chocolate, but since it's still chocolate, I still like it. LOL. Thanks Siew Yin and Ya Yin.

Mun Choon did called me just now. I think he mentioned that wanna hang out to celebrate my birthday later. Probably tomorrow. LOL. Douglas get me some chocolate from HK since he just back from HK this week from his business trip. Now, I think I need not to restock my chocolate for the moment. My sister also got me a bar of Meiji dark chocolate.

In Facebook, I received so many friends wishes. I'm so happy about it. I think I would drop tears looking at the amount of people that actually do take the initiative to write on my wall. Well, I know that Facebook have the application that reminds us on someone's birthday, it still need ones to write it. So I need to thank all of you that have written something on my wall, text me through phone, call me to wish me and even those that come to me directly to wish me birthday. I appreciate all of that.

Finally, this is my little birthday cake for my birthday celebration. I think I love it better than the whole damn cake from Secret Recipes since not many of us are eating it. It just a small little celebration. I love that cake so much because of 2 things. First, it's chocolate cake. LOL. Secondly, it have ice cream on top of it. Hahaha.

Bumping Into An Old Friend

I think there are lots of people encounter this scenario, where most of our friends that we got to know them fade through time. Some might be getting closer as time goes and some in the opposite way. Those that you are not close in the first place tends to get even further apart as you are no longer seeing each other that often.

For instance, today I met with one of my high school mate, Tan Choon Keat in LRT. It is just coincident that we bumped into each other. It's funny, I can still recall his full name. LOL. We work almost the same area which I have no idea till today. He has been working for almost 4 months here and I never see him boarding the same LRT as me. Today, it's just out of luck, we bumped into each other.

Seeing an old friend should be cool. It's cool but the feeling as well is pretty cold too. I mean as we did not manage to pick up some topic to talk about. Maybe I am not close to him for start even back in high school. So we just asked each other where we work and that's it. LOL. We did mentioned about the past of our high school friend as well. That's all I can recall what we spoke about the whole journey back to Bukit Jalil.

Well, not much high school mates that I am still keeping a very good contact with. Only a handful of them I am able to keep contacting them like Boon Hein, Choon Hing, Chee Yuen and Mun Choon. Anyhow, I guess we still need to maintain our friendship as much as we can.

Anyway, thinking back the time, time passes so fast. Like a blink of eye it's already a year and my birthday is around the corner already. I guess I have to wish all my friends that born on the month of April happy birthday - Ching Fui, Sheng Szan, Weng Foong, Voon Yuke, Mee Ken, Kim Fah, Jaeger, Sze Mun, Julie and Kah Teck. I hope I did not miss out any of my friends here.

Birthday Celebration In SGGMD

It's a late blog, where the event took place on Monday this week. I am looking for some time to spare out to write an entry and finally I am here to do so. It will be a short one since it's just a simple celebration that we did.

In my working team, SGGMD department, we managed to organize a small celebration for those team member that their birthday falls in the month of January to March, which is the first quarter of the year 2010. We got a nice chocolate cheese cake from Secret Recipe, which I think I love the most. LOL.

Due to some unforeseen circumstances, we can't really celebrate it in a great way, but in silently. Thanks to Siew Yin, the 'artist' of our department, she helped a lot in decorating the envelope for the birthday card nicely. It would not be that great if without her great masterpiece to those cards.

So once again, I guess I have to wish the three of them, Calvin, Ros and Nesa, happy belated birthday. Hope we will have more event or activities next time and make our team happening. It is kind of boring to be just sit in the office and process claims all the time. Till then, adios.

Mid Autumn Festival

The Mid Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, or in Chinese, 中秋節 (Zhongqiu Jie), is a popular harvest festival celebrated by Chinese and other people in the world (even though they celebrate it differently), dating back over 3,000 years to moon worship in China's Shang Dynasty. It was first called 中秋節 (Zhongqiu Jie), which literally means Mid-Autumn Festival in the Zhou Dynasty. In Malaysia, Singapore and Philipines, it is also sometimes referred to as the Lantern Festival or Mooncake Festival.

The Mid-Autumn Festival is held on the 15th day of the eighth month in the Chinese calendar (lunar calender), which is usually around late September or early October in the Gregorian calendar. It is a date that parallels the autumn and spring Equinoxes of the solar calendar, when the moon is supposedly at its fullest and roundest. The traditional food of this festival is the mooncake, of which there are many different varieties.

Traditionally, on this day, Chinese family members and friends will gather to admire the bright mid-autumn harvest moon, and eat moon cakes and pomelos together. Accompanying the celebration, there are additional cultural or regional customs, such as eating mooncake outside under the moon, carrying brightly lit lanterns, etc.

***************************************************************

This year Mid Autumn Festival as usual, I guess I will be celebrating at home with my family where we gather for a dinner only. Those mooncake eating and playing with candles and lantern are not really my thing. So most probably after 9pm, I'll be darn bored.

Today is Mid Autumn Festival Eve, which is also my mother's birthday according to the Chinese lunar calendar (not the Gregorian calendar which my mother falls on 7th of October). This evening my family will be going out for dinner at some vegetarian restaurant nearby my area.

Happy Birthday...

Today, it's my birthday. The very first present I got is from UTAR. PRESENTATION for my FYP. Arrgghh.... What a day for me.. Gotta scares my sh*t out to prepare for the presentation and get those 'presents' from Dr. Anthony, Dr. Kim and Dr. Mohd Abdel. They so 'kinda', keep on bombarding me with their 'presents' till I don't know how to response already. Think I did badly for my presentation.

Well, after presenting, submitted my thesis to the admin and my lecturer, I went back home to celebrate my birthday. It's a simple one. Just a slice of Secret Recipes' cake (chocolate indulgence) and some so so dinner. The details not going to state here. Tired to type for today.

So I'll wait for anyone still wanna celebrate with me, come ahead. LOL. Then I can post it later on ma. Hehe. Overall, this year birthday wasn't as great compare to last year till now. Hopefully it turns out to be a surprise later on. LOL. I'm so greedy.

Today is Tansra's birthday. Happy 22nd birthday Tansra - if you read my blog here. So we,Voon Yuke, Poi Ying, Xing Yi, Suet Ying & me went to McDonald's, Jusco, Setapak there to celebrate. Of course not Nando's again. LOL.

We did make fun of her, especially the piggy logo of a pig on top of the cake. LOL. Voon Yuke's idea I guess. Too bad that I have done the dental surgery so that I can't really eat burger so I gotta take the chicken porridge instead. Well, it wasn't taste bad anyway. It's kinda tasty. We took quite a bit of photos. Just hope that she enjoys her day today.

Vicky's Birthday

Yesterday, 6th of August was Vicky's (Wie Kee) 22th birthday. I would like to wish her happy belated birthday once again. I think she should have a lot of fun yesterday. Well, we have planned this day for quite a bit already. Thanks to Lit Teng, Poi Ying, Vivian, Yin Sian etc., they have done a lot in preparing the present for her. Well, this year we got her a photo album that filled with all those photos that we taken before since we laid our feet on UTAR. Furthermore, we make a video of us wishing her birthday and any personal words to her - but I didn't manage to do it.

Although I'm not in the video, I still have some words for you. What I hope is that you (Vicky) enjoy every single bit that we have gone through with her during the days in UTAR - all those sweet and sour memories that we all have walk through together as course mate. I wich you all the best in your future career and life journey. Friends forever!!!

OK. Back to the celebration part, we went to Jusco, Setapak. Poi Ying, Vivian, Tansra, Voon Yuke, Moses, Jeff, Eric and me was there to celebrate her birthday at Nando's. Well, in term of the food, I think you can refer to my previous blog on Nando の Peri Peri. The thing I wanna touch here is the cake's part. After blowing the candle, as usually we played the taking out the candles with the mouth. The evil plan of pushing the head of the birthday boy/girl is kinda a trend nowadays. Just that we didn't meant to be so over this time. Eric accidentally smashed Vicky head to the cake - maybe he was just to hyper that time. However, luckily she wasn't too upset by it. Thank God.

I think she must be enjoying her day to the fullest that day. I knew that she will be celebrating it again when she go back to her house and celebrate it with some of her house mates and some of our course mates. So now, I got to prepare for the others birthday soon. I think I'm gonna be broke this month. LOL.

Wishing time...

Vicky was afraid that Tansra will push her head to the cake...

Kinda scary with all the blueberry on her face...

We all help her to clean up...

Photo album that we get for her...

Some of her sleeping photos that we took last time...

She did shed tear looking at this gift that we get for her... I guess she must be touched...

All of us...

Vicky & me

Eric's 22nd Belated Birthday High Tea

Yesterday, my gang and I went to Little Tree Cafe to celebrate Eric's 22nd belated birthday... So I drove Yin Sian, Lit Teng and Poi Ying to get a cake from Paradise... It's a chocolate cake named 'Chocolate Lady'...

Then, reached the cafe there, one of the waiter help me with the cake... I guess Eric didn't notice we brought him the cake... So I ordered a drink - Lemon soda... So coincidently the same drink with Jeff... We did spend quality time there... All 9 of us crapping there... Seng Hong was the only one that accompany Eric at first till I came with the girls... After us, Wie Kee, Vivian and Jeff only arrive...

Actually, nothing much I can say about his celebration today since it's just a simple once... But then I seriously hope that he enjoyed what we have done today for him... As for the presents, we got him 2 stuff... One is the white jacket from IP Zone and the other one is a Converse sling bag... I'll be posting some of the photos that we taken during that time...

Proteins & Proteomics Exam + Belated Birthday Present

Today is my 1st day of my final examination for Year 2 Semester 2... Haiz... I don't really have a good starting i guess... I didn't feel that i did good enough for this Proteins & Proteomics paper... Can't memorize all the lectures notes especially Dr. Lim's part... LOL... Maybe i didn't pay enough attention to her lecture... Bad me... *Sigh*... Can't let myself grieve over it... I must move on and prepare for my next paper, Immunology... Gosh, it's a killing paper for me... Coz i don't think that i get a single thing from Dr.Soon... This paper is just too much for me... I'm gonna be dead...

So today i get my exam slip from Eric... But then Yin Sian who passes it to me... *Sigh*... Gotta distribute to the rest of them... Some even get it from me in the last minutes where i'm in the exam hall already... Who were they? Xin Yi, Joshua, Esther and some other of them...

My Exam Slip for this Year 2 Semester 2

Todays paper - Proteins & Proteomics

Although today might not be my day (due to that proteins & proteomics paper, i'm kinda did badly i think... Moreover, this morning in the canteen, both Dr.Anthony & Dr.Lim can just wish us "Good Luck!!!"... But then it doesn't help pretty much), however it wasn't so bad after all... i got a belated birthday gift from Tansra & the gang... LOL...

Twister & Jeans from Yin Sian & the gang... In my previous blog, i think i left out Poi Ying... I guess she also in it for my birthday gift...

Tadahh!!! My lovely bag from Tansra & the gang... Well, i kinda love the colour... It's green... LOL... So natural...

So i gotta thank Tansra, Voon Yuke, Jun Hou etc for it again... Previously, i got a twister (games) and a pair of jeans... This time i got a new bag... Although i got a new bag recently (just roughly a month ago), but then it's still cool... I'll have an extra bag to carry around... Don't think that i'll be like a model carry different bags around the campus... I'll just carry different bag occasionally... Don't wanna waste the bag...

Qing Ming + Dinner with Family~

Yesterday, i woke up kinda early in the morning for Qing Ming (Chinese tradition of praying their ancestor)... Roughly around 7am, i drove my mum, my sister & my brother to the memorial site, which my father is located there... It's some where near to the Dewan Bahasa & Pustaka... Well, thinking back about him, it's already 12 years that my dad leave us... Kinda miss him... Some other relatives that passes away also cremated there... As usual, we served some food for prayer...

Then, the last stop, we went to the cemetery that my grandma is located... It's located kinda near to Tien Hao Temple in KL... I don't really know what is that area called... LOL... It's kinda interesting... First time i saw that there is some plant that grow around my grandma graveyard which somehow beautify it... However, for praying purposes, we can't just leave it like that... So we still plucked all these plant away...
This picture shows the plant that grows around the graveyard... Kinda amazing... Maybe my grandma wanna beautify her garden... Just kidding...

There were plenty of food served as well... I think more than what my mum served to my dad... There were fried chicken, roasted pork, some Chinese rice dumpling, 'fatt kou' (Chinese rice cake), & grapes...

This is the photo that i manage to take that time... Lotsa stuff served...

After the prayers, we went home and rest... Later in the evening, my whole family went out to 1 utama for dinner... Well, my mum treated me... It's kinda like celebrate my birthday... We ate at Pasta Zanmai... So, yesterday was kinda nice day... My sister got me chocolate cheesecake from secret recipes for me... Although she wasn't buying the whole cake, but then it is me my favourite cake...

My pasta set... This time, the bowl they served me is different compare to the bowl they used to serve me last time i visit there... Refer to my previous blog - ~Pasta Zanmai + Utar 19th Intervarsity Biochemistry Seminar**

Later in the evening, i went out with Thava and Boon Hein to Sunway Pyramid to catch a movie... I watched "L Change the World"... It's nice but then preferable you have watched Death Note the Last Name (the 2nd film for Death Note) so that you will kinda get the sequence of the story... Well, it's nice to meet them up again...

Overall rating: 7 ; Plot: 7 ; Casting: 8

Advance Surprise!!!

Today i was so sleepy... i didn't turn up for my immunology lecture by Dr.Soon... Well, i know that there are other course mates also didn't turn up as well... Anyway, the lecture wasn't that important coz i wouldn't be tested in my final... so there is no point turning up either... LOL...
But then i did turn up to my university for my molecular biology last lecture... I gotta take my exam slip as well... However, the admin staff got the out course exam slip wrongly... We suppose to be sitting for 5 papers but then in the slip itself only 4 papers are shown... The molecular biology paper was not appeal in that slip... Now, i gotta wait till next monday most probably...

Basically after my molecular biology lecture, i planned to go home already... But then Lit Teng they all asking me to join them for lunch... So i agreed, thinking that it will be the last gathering for this semester... We went to Pizza Hut, somewhere near Carrefour which near to our campus for lunch... Eric, Lit Teng, Wie Kee, Vivian, Yin Sian, Jeff, Jing Yung and me only... after the lench, then only i realize that it is a surprise advance celebration for my birthday... so touching... dunno what to say already...

I didn't manage to take any picture during the lunch coz i was busy eating my lunch... LOL... I should take sometime to take some at 1st... But then i managed to take some of it after that... Wie Kee, Vivian and Jing Yung went to get the cake that they hide... I think they passed to the staff there earlier on... I didn't even notice it... At first, i really thought that they are late only... So now i know that they are actually getting me a cake instead...

So things goes on and i have lotsa fun there... Many thanks to all of them... So once again, Eric, Jeff, Jing Yung, Yin Sian, Wie Kee, Vivian & Lit Teng, thank you for all the things that you all have done... Although it is celebrated 5 days in advance, but then it's really amazing for me...

This photo was taken after finish my lunch...

The cake that they get for me... I know it's kinda kiddy type but then still cute like me... LOL... i think maybe they choose this coz my chinese horoscope is tiger perhaps...
It was me before with my cake before i make my birthday wish...

My 1st birthday present from them, KIDS TWISTER... ^.^''

They forced me to take out the candle with my mouth... The worst part was Wie Kee wanna take a shot of it but then Jeff they all keep on pushing my face into the cake... Kesian me...

My face was covered with the cream from the letters... It's red in colour... When i wipe it out, it looks like as if i'm bleeding all over the tissue... This photo shows the tissue that i use to wipe off the cream... That lame Jeff make fun of me saying that i have my period on my birthday all over the tissue paper... ^.^''

Thanks to Yin Sian, i got the biggest piece of cake... She purposely cuts the cake, giving me the 'head of the tiger' for me...

All the guys... From left to right: Eric, Jeff, Me & Jing Yung...

The gurls, from left to right: Yin Sian, Vivian, Me, Wie Kee & Lit Teng

The whole bunch of us in Pizza Hut... This will be one of my unforgettable birthday for this year...

All this photos was taken by Wie Kee and me... But then those photos that look a bit yellowish and reddish was taken by Wie Kee... Why her camera phone so weird de? LOL... So, thanks a lot to all of you... Thanks for all the presents (Twister & a pair of jeans from Romp) that you guys get for me... That kiddy Twister i might use it later for Eric's birthday celebration... Overall, i have a great time today... Not to forget, thanks to Swat Kim for her comment in friendster coz she is the first 1 who wishes me birthday i guess... Voon Yuke for wishing me happy birthday in advance today... Love u guys...

I think there will be some other celebration as well perhaps... I am not so sure yet... But then i knew that my sister will be going to treat me for my birthday on this coming sunday... We planned to go to Pasta Zanmai... The rest, up to my friends...
